Introduction to Latex

Description: Students will begin by learning the basic structure of LATEX documents and commands. We will then move on to the idea that LATEX as a markup language. This will include using commands like sections and subsections, the table of contents, and lists. The students will then be taught how to typeset mathematics – both as single equations and as systems of equations. Throughout the course the instructor will demonstrate some common mistakes new users make and how to avoid them. The instructor will also briefly discuss how to install LATEX on your own computer.
